Tommy Steele is where classical music meets an outdoorsman, bringing his love of the clarinet together with a childhood shaped by fishing, hunting, and hiking in San Antonio, Texas. A junior at Belmont University, Tommy studies clarinet with Dr. Daniel Lochrie and performs in the Wind Ensemble under Dr. Barry Kraus and Orchestra under Dr. Christopher Fashun. He has also performed in Belmont’s opera program with Dr. Daniel Krenz and is currently exploring chamber music as a member of a reed quintet. Before the clarinet became his instrument of choice, Tommy started his musical journey on piano in elementary school. His performance experience extends beyond the concert hall as well, having competed on mellophone with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps and performed at the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis.
